Gawthorpe Hall : December 2024

Galliard English Folk Dancers performed in Victorian Costume at Gawthorpe Hall as part of Christmas celebrations.

This event at Gawthorpe Hall was limited to 30 tickets. Visitors were able to look around the hall which had been specially decorated for Christmas then made their way to the Nursery on the 2nd floor for the start of the Christmas celebration event. The event began with a special welcome and festive readings, participants then moved through to the Long Gallery for Victorian dancing by Galliard. The Galliard Dancers performed a selection of dances, then invited the audience to join them in dancing.

Participants then returned to the Nursery where they had mulled wine and mince pies and further festive readings before returning to the Long Gallery for more dances performed by Galliard and another opportunity to join in the dancing.

The visitors were surprisingly enthusiastic about joining the Galliard dancers and many remarked how much they had enjoyed the event.
