York Georgian Festival: August 8-9 2026

We performed in Regency costume outside York Mansion House on August 8-9 2026, entertaining visitors to York, many of whom were dressed in the Georgian style.

Dancing outside York Mansion House

We demonstrated dances, many of which were written – and all were certainly danced – during the reign of George III such as Comical Fellow (1776) Duke of Kent’s Waltz (1801) and Emperor of the Moon (1690). Many of the audience in St Helen’s Square then joined us in dancing My Lord Byron’s Maggot (1701) and Sprigs of Laurel (1790).
