Chippenham Folk Festival : May 2026

For our fifth attendance at Chippenham Folk Festival we left behind our English costumes and dances and joined forces with our Welsh friends Tipyn o Bopeth. The name means “a bit of everything” because its members come from various dancing and musical backgrounds. We performed dances including Abergenni (1657), Meillionen (1735) and Lord of Caernarvon’s Jig (1650) which are recorded in the bible of all country dancers – Playford’s Dancing Master. The performances were lifted by the magnificent 6-piece Tipyn band.
