Speke Hall Tudor Festival: May 2026
In May 2026 we performed at Speke Hall, in south Liverpool. It’s a rare Tudor timber-framed house on the banks of the River Mersey, built possibly as early as 1314 but considerably extended from 1530 to 1598. We wore Country costume, in keeping with the age of the site, and we danced some of the earliest of the dances recorded in Playford”s Dancing Master first published in 1651.
